Well, happy new year to you all and I cannot believe that it is now 2016. 2015 was a year full of excitement and despair for me; being in offered jobs in China, Poland and Thailand and being unable to take them as I could not afford to get there. My current jobs are trying their best to keep me happy and pay my TEFL adventures. I have almost finished the Advanced Grammar module (to be honest I need to be pretty quick to finish it…) – I wonder if i-to-i will have any more modules for me to complete. 😂
This year I have decided that I WILL be teaching the English abroad. I am waiting for a call from the lovely people at i-to-i to discuss the internships. I want to do a payment plan with them. Hopefully this will show them how committed I am to taking abroad and representing them. To save money, I will be doing more of the Rewards For Thoughts scheme from Avios to gain something towards my flights. I will be having a massive selling session of all the items I have not used in 2015 – this includes books, clothes and DVDs. I will be releasing most of the second hand books that I own via BookCrossing. I will post where and when I will do my releasing, for everyone to see. My beloved Starbucks card collection will also be up for grabs! I am looking forward to seeing there the cards will go to.
I will be teaching more at SkimaTalk; I now have a tablet with I have connected to Skype so I can teach anywhere. I am very excited about this year…what about yourself? 😁
Hi! I did i-i with my first teachng internship, and although I enjoyed it, I spent way too much money for the course which I now regret. There are tonnes of schools looking for teachers who will pay you good money, insurance and your visa. Have a look at http://www.gochengdoo.com/en/classifieds/folder/2/jobs_offered . You can save tonnes of money just by contacting schools in China.
I already have too many hours for the internships; I want the support for my first teaching placement. I have spoken to schools in China and I know that support will be there; just not the teacher training support.
You should do it. You won’t regret it!
